Design one card and export it as a 1080x1080 square, a 1080x1350 portrait, or a 1080x1920 story. Same design, every Instagram surface.
Free, no signup. The preview you see is the PNG you download.

Instagram wants different pixels than the rest of your channels: 1080x1080 for a square post, 1080x1350 for the taller portrait format, 1080x1920 for a story. Redrawing the same announcement three times in a design tool is the boring kind of work this editor removes.
Design the card once in the editor: headline, colors, photo, your logo. Then pick the size above the preview and the layout restructures itself for that canvas; side-by-side images stack vertically on square and portrait formats so nothing gets cramped. Download each size as its own PNG.
One design, three Instagram formats. Real exports from the editor, not mockups.

The sizes Instagram actually uses
A feed post is 1080x1080 (square, 1:1) or 1080x1350 (portrait, 4:5); portrait takes more vertical space in the feed, which is why most brands post 4:5. Stories and Reels covers are 1080x1920 (9:16). All three are one click each in the size picker, and one $4.99 purchase covers every size of the design, watermark-free, bundled with a ZIP of all of them.
Story exports respect the platform safe area: text and branding stay clear of the top and bottom bands where Instagram draws the profile header and the reply field, so nothing important hides under the UI.
One design, coherent everywhere
The layout engine keeps proportions consistent across sizes: padding, type scale and image treatment adapt to the canvas instead of stretching. A quote card that works as a link preview looks intentional as a square post too, so a launch can hit the blog, X, LinkedIn and Instagram with one coherent visual.
The same design covers the rest of the funnel too. Pairs well with: Announcement cards · Twitter card generator · LinkedIn post image
Frequently asked questions
What size is an Instagram post image?
1080x1080 pixels for a square post and 1080x1350 for the portrait format. Stories are 1080x1920. The editor exports all three from the same design.
Do I have to redesign the card for each size?
No. Design once, then switch sizes in the picker above the preview. The layout adapts to each canvas automatically and you download each size separately.
Does the free download work for Instagram sizes?
Yes. Every size can be downloaded free with a small corner watermark. A one-time $4.99 payment removes the watermark from every size of that design at once.
Can I use a photo in the post image?
Yes. Upload a photo or screenshot and it adapts per format: on square and portrait canvases side layouts restack vertically so the image and text both get room.
Is there an API for generating these automatically?
Yes. Saved templates can be rendered over HTTP with a size parameter, so one template can serve og:image previews and Instagram assets from the same design.

The editor is free and runs in the browser, no signup. The free download carries a small "Made with betterimage.io" mark; a one-time $4.99 payment removes it from every platform size of the design, no subscription required. For automated generation there is an API plan at $9/month.
